Award-winning screenwriter and LSSC professor Amber Karlins will share the knowledge she’s gained from a year spent working on feature film and series development with Emmy-winning producer and director Cristina Malavenda (Wonder Women and The Other Side of Home), award-winning actress, director, and producer Leslie Zemeckis (Polar Express, Beowulf, and Mabel, Mabel, Tiger Trainer), and award-winning actress, producer, and Daytime Emmy’s judge, Michelle Romano (Milwood, Spoken Word, and The Sopranos). The presentation will cover the following topics:
Structuring your screenplay
Structuring your teleplay (both sitcoms and 1-hour dramas)
Developing your script
Writing a log-line, synopsis, and query letter
Writing a series bible
Marketing your work
Networking for aspiring writers
Time permitting, Ms. Karlins will also lead a workshop to help attendees develop existing script or series ideas.
