This is an official call for proposals for the upcoming Odyssey Art & Literary magazine’s Lecture series. Each year, the magazine offers students, faculty, staff, and community a series of lectures related to art & literature. Last year, we had Daniel “Woody” Weber discuss graphic novels at the Leesburg and South Lake campuses. This year, we hope to add your name to the list of presenters!
The Odyssey is looking to fill 3-4 slots in the 2019-2020 academic year with engaging and dynamic presentations regarding any aspect of art (photography, painting, sculpture, graphic novels, fashion design, history of art, drawing or digital art) or literature (writing, publishing, screenwriting, editing, etc.). Sessions should expect to last approximately one hour including question and answer periods. The sessions can be presented at either the South Lake campus or the Leesburg campus.
The deadline to submit your proposal is August 1st, 2019 at 8pm. Selections will be made by the Odyssey staff and advisor. Selected presenters will be notified by August 19, 2019.
Please include in your presentation proposal:
A topic overview
Why should our students care about this topic?
Which area(s) of art and literature your topic resides in
Campus Selection (Leesburg or South Lake or Both)
Preferred days for presentation (Availability including conflicts)
Technology needed to present (projector/computer lab/none)

Please address any questions about the Lecture Series to Kevin Arms, Odyssey Magazine advisor, ArmsK@lssc.edu or extension 4012 on campus
